Leading up to this season (2023) I had been considering life membership of Essex. I turned 70 this year and the cost dropped to a point where I could reasonably justify the hit. Without the 100 I would definitely have committed, but the continued uncertainty about the County Game gave me cause for thought. I have signed up for 2024, but only for one year, and I have decided that I canβt commit to life membership anymore - there is every chance that Essex CCC will die before I do...
What a shame a decent write up of recent county cricket news has to be spoiled by a sad inability to leave political leanings outside. What has Donald Trump got to do with county cricket ffs, apart from saying more about the writer than might have been otherwise apparent?
Thought yours was a decent read, even thought of buying you a coffee. Shame you can't manage to leave your prejudices at the door.
Unfortunately, imho, sad, embittered lefties tend to out themselves sooner or later, as their only real wish in life is that everyone else live as miserable an existence as do they.
Errr... I think you are displaying a whole heap of prejudices yourself here, Andrew.
Also, the title rather gives it away don't you think "THE GRUMBLER'S County Cricket Newsletter". It's kind of my view, my take and, given that no-one is paying for it, it's "no harm, no foul" don't you think? I am actually trying to find a better way. But don't worry, I'll take you off my subscriber list so you don't have read my "sad, embittered lefty" stuff ever again. I wish you well
Seen enough s.e.m.'s in my time to enable an easy diagnosis. I can't help but remark that it's funny how libertarians and conservatives feel so much more at ease with themselves and that they don't feel the need to virtue signal their own petty hatreds to the wider world, isn't it?
And some don't like being called out for it, I see.
I'm sure Trump is just burning up inside knowing that some feller he will never hear of is against him in England.
How sad you feel the need to populate a blog about a great game and format with your prejudices, but I guess you need to find an outlet for all that hate and bile. It all comes out eventually.

Yes, alas your maths adds up. Let's hope we are both utterly wrong
It is very simple. Abandon the 100. Back the Blast.
Completely agree. That is why I am so down about this latest news. They are running head-long in exactly the opposite direction

Is it all out now? Feel better?
Hope you get some sort of help for the issues you are displaying here.
