Really appreciate 'The Grumbler' dropping into my inbox each week (in season) / fortnight (out of season); you provide such a valuable service collating quite so many links to various sources of press coverage (both national and local) which cannot (easily) be found elsewhere.
Please do not give up; you are a sane voice for long time followers of the game which we need particularly given the machinations of the ECB and the unwillingness of County Chairs/Boards to give members their rightful say on the direction, structure and broader governance of the domestic game.
If you decide ultimately not to continue then thank you and perhaps groups such as County Cricket Matters might shift away from X/Facebook to provide a web based blog forum accessible to all to fill the gap you would otherwise sadly leave.
Appreciate the post, Simon. Just got to think about a stance worth taking now. And summon up the enthusiasm to keep going. It is not a nice space at the moment. So much division, disillusion and anger (mine included)
Long-time reader, first-time commenter, just adding a 'thanks' for your work on the newsletter. I think that final tweet about local club cricket sums up the direction of my views on the slow-motion s*#tshow of English cricket management that you have documented. I love watching international games, but have long baulked at ticket prices and TV subscription fees. I used to be a Yorkshire member, but don't feel like giving the club my patronage right now. And yet I have a young daughter, who I want to introduce to the wonder of cricket. So the local club it is. The crowd is small, the pitch is not great, the standard is not high; but it serves the community, and exists for something other than profit. And cricket is cricket, good even when it's bad.
The Repair Shop wouldnโt have it - that showโs all about the sob story, not the object.
I presume this is a criticism but not too sure
Of The Repair Shop, not of you!

Cheers Mike. Appreciate it
